JAMMU: The Congress party has criticised the administration in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir over worsening civic conditions and rising unemployment in the region.
According to Beyond Time News, the criticism came during a monthly party meeting held in Jammu, chaired by working president Raman Bhalla.
Poor Civic Services Under Fire
Bhalla said residents are facing serious daily hardships due to weak public services. He pointed to irregular water supply, frequent power cuts, damaged roads, and poor drainage systems in both urban and nearby areas.
He described the situation as a result of “administrative apathy” and a lack of accountability in governance.
Rising Unemployment Adds Pressure
The Congress leader also raised concerns over unemployment in the region. He said job opportunities remain limited, while recruitment delays have increased frustration among young people.
He added that rising inflation has made life even more difficult for low-income families.

Call for Monsoon Preparedness
Bhalla urged authorities to improve preparations ahead of the monsoon season. He stressed the need to clean drainage systems and prevent waterlogging in vulnerable areas.
He also called for stronger disaster management measures to protect lives and property during heavy rains.
Party Leaders Demand Action
Former minister GM Saroori also spoke at the meeting. He called for unity within the party and urged leaders to raise issues affecting marginalised communities.
Ongoing Governance Concerns
The meeting highlighted growing concerns over basic infrastructure and employment in the region. Party leaders said urgent action is needed to address public grievances and improve living conditions.
