Extreme Heatwave Continues Across Sindh and Balochistan

KARACHI: A severe hot and dry weather spell is continuing across much of Pakistan, with Sindh and Balochistan facing intense heat conditions and rising temperatures.

According to Beyond Time News, the Meteorological Department has warned that several cities may experience extreme heat over the coming days.

Temperatures Set to Soar Further

Forecasts show very high temperatures in multiple regions. In Turbat, the mercury is expected to reach 45°C. In Mithi, Jacobabad, and Nawabshah, temperatures may climb up to 44°C.

Cities such as Hyderabad, Sukkur, and Larkana are also expected to experience highs of around 42°C.

In Karachi, temperatures have slightly dropped compared to the previous day. However, the weather remains hot and dry. The city is expected to reach around 38°C.

Another Heatwave Expected Soon

Meteorologists have warned that another heatwave is likely to begin in Sindh from May 7, followed by a new spell of intense heat in Karachi starting May 13.

According to Beyond Time News, there is currently no chance of rainfall in Karachi during May based on weather models.

Public Advisory Issued

The weather department has advised citizens to take precautions during the ongoing heatwave. People are urged to:

  • Avoid direct sunlight during peak hours
  • Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water
  • Limit outdoor activity where possible

Karachi Faces Severe Heat Conditions

Karachi recently experienced one of its hottest days of the season. Temperatures crossed 40°C after sea breezes stopped and hot northwesterly winds intensified the heat.

The extreme conditions have persisted for several days, putting significant pressure on residents.

Health Impact and Safety Concerns

Authorities reported that the prolonged heatwave has already caused multiple heat-related deaths in the city, with several cases linked to dehydration and heat stress.

Officials continue to urge caution as the heatwave is expected to continue in the coming days.

With no immediate relief in sight, meteorologists warn that hot and dry conditions may persist across southern Pakistan. Residents are advised to stay alert and follow safety guidelines to reduce health risks.
