Jammu: A 20-year-old degree college student committed suicide today form pul in Doda district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, triggering shock and grief across the area.

According to Beyond the Time News, the deceased has been identified as Saba Bano, a resident of Pooti, Kastigarh. She was appearing in her first-semester examination when she was reportedly found using a mobile phone inside the examination hall.

According to available information, a teacher confiscated her mobile phone along with her answer sheet and informed her about possible disciplinary action, including a ban from appearing in examinations or seeking admission for up to five years.

Reports said she was asked to leave the examination hall around 2:30pm. Shortly after leaving the college premises, Saba Bano allegedly went to Pul Doda and jumped into the River Chenab, resulting in her death.

Police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact sequence of events.
