Mohammad Nawaz under PCB probe over drug test report.

Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz is reportedly under investigation after a positive test for recreational drug use, according to media reports. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that the matter is now under review.

According to Beyond Time News, the issue surfaced after testing carried out during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup earlier this year.

PCB Confirms Review Process

A PCB spokesperson said the board received formal communication from the International Cricket Council (ICC) and has started the official process.

The spokesperson stated that the PCB will complete its review and share the outcome with the ICC. So far, the ICC has not released any public statement on the case.

Test Report Linked to T20 World Cup

Reports suggest that Nawaz’s sample was collected during the global tournament, where he represented Pakistan in all seven matches. Pakistan exited the competition at the Super Eight stage.

During the event, Nawaz contributed 15 runs and took seven wickets.

Impact on PSL and Overseas Deal

The investigation comes at a sensitive time, as Nawaz continues to play for Multan Sultans in HBL PSL 11. His availability for upcoming matches may depend on the final outcome of the case.

The situation has also affected his planned stint in England’s T20 Blast. His proposed contract with Surrey County Cricket Club has reportedly been cancelled following the positive test result. The club has not commented on the matter.

PCB Decision Still Awaited

The case remains under active review, and the PCB’s final decision will determine any disciplinary action. Until then, Mohammad Nawaz’s future in both domestic and international cricket remains uncertain.
