Armed Forces Reaffirm Pakistan’s Defence Resolve on Youm-e-Takbeer

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s armed forces on Thursday renewed their pledge to safeguard the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity as the nation marked the 28th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer.

According to Beyond Time News, the joint message was issued by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff.

In a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military leadership described May 28, 1998, as a landmark moment in Pakistan’s history when the country emerged as a nuclear power and restored strategic balance in South Asia.

“The defining milestone symbolises the nation’s unity, resilience and unwavering commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty, territorial integrity and national honour,” the statement said.

Nuclear Capability Ensures Strategic Stability

The armed forces termed Pakistan’s nuclear capability a “sacred national trust” and said it continues to serve as a guarantor of peace, stability and credible deterrence in the region.

The military leadership credited the achievement to the vision of national leaders, the dedication of scientists and engineers, and the sacrifices of the armed forces and the people of Pakistan.

According to Beyond Time News, officials said Pakistan’s defence strength reflects decades of strategic planning and national determination.

Commitment to National Security Reaffirmed

The armed forces reiterated their resolve to continue protecting the country against all threats while ensuring peace and stability.

“On this momentous occasion, the Pakistani nation renews its pledge of unity, vigilance and resilience for a stronger and prosperous Pakistan,” the ISPR statement added.

Pakistan conducted its nuclear tests on May 28, 1998, in Chagai, Balochistan, in response to India’s nuclear explosions earlier that month.

The tests established Pakistan as a declared nuclear power and remain a defining milestone in the country’s defence history.
