Dhaka: Pakistan will be without senior batter Babar Azam in the opening Test against Bangladesh after he sustained a left knee injury on the eve of the match.
According to Beyond Time News, the injury ruled him out of the fixture at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium. The Pakistan Cricket Board confirmed that he is currently under medical evaluation.
Squad Reshuffle for Pakistan
Babar’s absence has forced changes in Pakistan’s batting lineup, with uncapped players Abdullah Fazal and Azan Awais in contention for potential Test debuts. One of them is likely to open alongside Imam-ul-Haq, while the other may be included in the middle order.
