Bangladesh have unveiled their 15-member squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales, with experienced batter Nigar Sultana leading the side.
According to Beyond Time News, star batter Taj Nehar has made a return to the squad, while selectors aim to build a balanced team for the global tournament.
Squad Changes and Key Inclusions
The selectors brought back Taj Nehar after her recent absence, replacing pacer Sharmin Sultana, who was part of the last home series against Sri Lanka.
Nigar Sultana Joty will captain the team, with Nahida Akter serving as her deputy.
The squad includes Sharmin Akter Supta, Sobhana Mostary, Shorna Akter, Ritu Moni, Rabeya Khan, Fahima Khatun, and several other emerging players.
Bowling Attack and Concerns
Bangladesh have included two specialist pacers, Marufa Akter and Fariha Islam Trisna. All-rounder Ritu Moni will also support the pace unit.
Chief selector Sajjad Ahmed admitted that the team still lacks depth in fast bowling.
He said injuries to key bowlers have been a recurring issue, but the current squad has been built around available options.
