Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has sought Singapore’s assistance in securing the return of Pakistani and Iranian seafarers aboard vessels reportedly seized by US authorities.

According to Beyond Time News, Dar spoke with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, requesting support for the welfare and repatriation of 11 Pakistani and 20 Iranian seafarers currently near Singaporean waters.
The Singaporean minister reportedly appreciated Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and its role in facilitating regional coordination.
Coordination with Iran and US
Dar also held discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, reaffirming Pakistan’s coordination with Tehran on the matter.
He said Pakistan is ready to facilitate the safe return of Iranian nationals through its territory, while maintaining contact with US authorities to ensure the welfare and early repatriation of affected crew members.

Regional Maritime Cooperation
Both sides also discussed maritime issues and recent incidents in international waters, agreeing to maintain close coordination between relevant authorities and continue high-level engagement.
Pakistan has previously assisted in the repatriation of Iranian crew members from a seized vessel as part of ongoing diplomatic cooperation efforts.
