Faisalabad has launched a major infrastructure project to improve traffic flow on Samundri Road. Authorities plan to turn the busy route into a signal-free corridor.
According to Beyond Time News, Farooq Yousaf Sheikh shared details of the project. The plan includes a 5.50-kilometre underpass from Novelty Bridge to D-Type Chowk. The estimated cost stands at Rs3.191 billion.
He thanked Maryam Nawaz and Musarrat Jabeen for starting the project. He called it a long-awaited step for the city.
Faster Travel and Better Business
The project will take about one year to complete. It will improve traffic flow and cut travel time. It will also help businesses by making transport easier.
Traders expect smoother access to markets. They believe the project will reduce delays and boost commercial activity.

More Development Projects in the City
The Municipal Corporation Faisalabad will restore the historic Clock Tower Faisalabad. Authorities will also upgrade Jhang Bazaar with a budget of Rs399.02 million.
In addition, the government will spend Rs203.67 million on development work in Aminpur Bazaar.

These projects aim to modernise the city. They will improve infrastructure and support local businesses. Officials expect better facilities for residents and traders in the coming months.
