Pakistan is experiencing a sharp rise in temperatures as a strong heatwave grips large parts of the country. The Meteorological Department has warned that daytime conditions will remain extremely hot over the next two to three days, especially across the plains.
According to Beyond Time News, most regions are currently facing temperatures significantly above seasonal averages, increasing heat stress for the public.
Temperatures 3 to 5 Degrees Above Normal in Punjab
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has stated that southern and central Punjab will see temperatures 3°C to 5°C higher than normal.
Cities in this region are expected to face intense daytime heat, making outdoor activity difficult during peak hours.
Sindh and Balochistan Also Affected
Upper Sindh, along with northeastern and southern parts of Balochistan, is also expected to remain warmer than usual, with temperatures 2°C to 4°C above normal levels.
These conditions are likely to persist over the coming days, adding to the overall heat intensity across the country.
Severe Heat Forecast in Major Cities
The Met Office has issued high temperature projections for several key cities:
- Dadu may reach up to 46°C
- Nawabshah and Sukkur could hit around 45°C
- Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Sargodha, and Lahore are expected to cross 40°C
These levels indicate a strong and widespread heatwave affecting both urban and rural areas.

Karachi Faces Hot and Humid Weather
Karachi is also under hot and humid conditions, with temperatures expected to reach 37°C.

Authorities are urging citizens to take precautions during peak afternoon hours. People are advised to avoid direct sunlight, stay hydrated, and limit outdoor exposure where possible.
