The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has introduced dual and joint-degree programmes in universities across Pakistan, aiming to give students more academic flexibility and broader learning opportunities.
Students Allowed to Pursue Two Degrees
According to Beyond Time News, students will now be able to enroll in two degree programmes at the same time. The policy is not limited by discipline, meaning students can choose different fields of study simultaneously.
Joint-Degree Structure Introduced
The HEC has also approved joint-degree programmes, under which students can complete their studies across two different universities. Part of the degree will be completed at one institution and the remaining at another.
Universities will be required to sign an HEC-approved Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) before launching such programmes.
