Islamabad, May 13: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted mainly hot and dry weather across most parts of the country on Thursday. However, some regions may receive isolated rain-wind and thunderstorm activity, especially during the afternoon.
According to Beyond Time News, very hot conditions are expected to persist in Sindh and other southern areas, while upper regions may see slightly milder conditions in comparison.
Islamabad and surrounding areas
Islamabad is likely to stay mostly dry throughout the day. However, partly cloudy weather may develop in the afternoon, bringing a slight change in conditions.
Punjab weather outlook
Punjab will continue to experience hot and dry weather in most districts. Still, Murree and Galiyat may turn partly cloudy during the evening and night.
Dust-raising winds are also expected in central and southern Punjab during the afternoon. In addition, isolated rain-wind and thunderstorms may occur in areas such as Bahawalpur, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Kot Addu, and Dera Ghazi Khan.
KP, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan forecast
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will mostly remain hot and dry. However, upper parts of the province may see partly cloudy skies in the evening and night.
In Kashmir, the weather will stay partly cloudy to cloudy, with chances of rain-wind and thunderstorms in some areas. Gilgit-Baltistan is also expected to remain partly cloudy.
Sindh and Balochistan conditions
Sindh will continue to face very hot weather, especially in upper districts. Most areas of the province will remain hot and dry.
Balochistan will also stay hot and dry in most regions. However, some southern districts, including Zhob, Barkhan, Dera Bugti, and Naseerabad, may experience isolated rain-wind and thunderstorms.

During the last 24 hours, scattered rain-wind and thunderstorms were recorded in parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Garhi Dupatta.

- Lahore Airport: 19 mm
- Parachinar: 7 mm
- Dir: 2 mm
- Kalam and Pattan: 1 mm each
- Astore: 2 mm
- Skardu: 2 mm
- Garhi Dupatta: 2 mm
Temperature highlights
The hottest locations recorded temperatures of up to 45°C, including Jacobabad, Sibi, Sukkur, Rohri, Mohenjodaro, Larkana, and Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Rahim Yar Khan, Turbat, and Khairpur recorded 44°C.
Outlook
The PMD says hot and dry conditions will likely continue in the coming days. Still, isolated rain-wind and thunderstorm activity may appear in upper and hilly regions from time to time.
