Diplomatic push continues amid uncertainty over Washington’s stance
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has returned to Pakistan as efforts intensify to keep the Iran–US peace dialogue on track, according to Beyond Time News. His visit comes at a time when diplomatic momentum remains fragile following shifting signals from Washington.
High-Level Meetings Expected in Islamabad
During his brief stay in Islamabad, Araghchi is expected to meet Pakistan’s top leadership once again. Officials say he will present Iran’s position on any potential framework aimed at ending the ongoing conflict and supporting a diplomatic solution.
Earlier, Araghchi had already held meetings with senior Pakistani officials, including the leadership involved in regional diplomatic efforts.
Pakistan’s Mediating Role
Pakistan has continued to position itself as a facilitator in efforts to support dialogue between Iran and the United States. In recent meetings, Iranian and Pakistani officials discussed broader regional stability, including security concerns in the Strait of Hormuz.
In addition, Araghchi met senior Pakistani leadership, including military and civilian officials, before briefly travelling to Oman for further consultations.

Uncertainty Over US Engagement
The diplomatic process has faced setbacks after signals from Washington changed abruptly. Reports suggest that planned US envoy travel for negotiations was cancelled, raising doubts about the immediate progress of talks.
Former US President Donald Trump also made remarks indicating frustration with the pace of negotiations, although he stopped short of confirming a return to conflict.
Iran’s Position on Negotiations
Iranian officials have maintained that any negotiations must reflect national security concerns. At the same time, Iranian representatives have expressed caution about the intentions of the United States, suggesting that trust remains limited.
Araghchi has previously described discussions in Pakistan as “very fruitful,” while also noting uncertainty over Washington’s commitment to a long-term diplomatic framework.
Regional Diplomatic Efforts Continue
Following his engagements in Pakistan, Araghchi is expected to travel to Moscow for further consultations, reflecting Iran’s wider diplomatic outreach amid ongoing tensions.
Meanwhile, Pakistan continues to engage with multiple stakeholders in an effort to encourage dialogue and reduce regional tensions.
The situation remains fluid, with diplomatic efforts continuing alongside geopolitical uncertainty, as all sides weigh their next steps in the peace process.
