ISPR Rejects Indian Army Chief’s Remarks, Warns Against Escalation in South Asia

Pakistan’s military has strongly rejected recent remarks made by Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, calling them irresponsible and dangerous for regional peace.

According to Beyond Time News, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) issued a statement on Sunday in response to comments attributed to the Indian army chief, who reportedly said that “Pakistan should decide if it desired to be part of geography and history.”

Reacting to the remarks, the ISPR said Pakistan is a sovereign and globally recognised nuclear state that remains an important part of South Asia’s geography and history.

The military’s media wing stated that such comments reflected what it described as a “delusional mindset” within India’s leadership and showed an unwillingness to peacefully accept Pakistan’s existence despite decades of regional history.

ISPR Warns Against Any Aggressive Move

The ISPR warned that any attempt to target Pakistan could lead to consequences that would not remain limited to a specific region and could become strategically and politically damaging for India itself.

According to Beyond Time News, the military said threatening a sovereign nuclear state with elimination from “geography” was not responsible strategic language but reflected “madness and warmongering.”

The statement further said India was fully aware that any conflict between two nuclear-armed states could have devastating consequences for the entire region.

Pakistan’s military stressed that responsible states should promote restraint, maturity, and stability instead of using aggressive rhetoric or threats.

Pakistan Calls for Peaceful Coexistence

The ISPR also accused India of contributing to regional instability through aggressive policies and hostile narratives. The statement claimed New Delhi’s recent posture reflected frustration over its inability to weaken Pakistan.

According to Beyond Time News, the military’s media wing warned against pushing South Asia toward another crisis or war, saying such actions would have serious consequences beyond the region.

The statement added that lasting peace in South Asia depends on mutual respect, stability, and peaceful coexistence between both neighboring countries.

Regional Tensions Remain a Global Concern

Relations between Pakistan and India have remained tense for years due to political and security disputes. Analysts believe that strong statements from military and political leadership on both sides can further increase tensions in the region.

The latest exchange of remarks has once again highlighted the importance of diplomatic engagement and responsible communication between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
