The Pakistan government has announced a significant cut in jet fuel prices, offering potential relief for airlines and passengers.
According to Beyond Time News, the price of jet fuel has been reduced by Rs111.44 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs330.22 per litre.
The reduction is expected to ease pressure on airlines, as fuel is one of their biggest operating costs.
Airfares May Come Down
Aviation industry sources say the price cut could help reduce airline expenses, which may eventually translate into lower ticket prices for travellers.
According to Beyond Time News, jet fuel prices were recently increased to Rs441.66 per litre after a hike of Rs53.11 per litre earlier this month.
Even after the latest reduction, prices remain higher than pre-surge levels seen before global oil market disruptions.
Petrol and Diesel Prices Also Lowered
The government has also reduced petrol and high-speed diesel prices by Rs5 per litre under its latest fortnightly review.
After the revision, the diesel price stands at Rs409.58 per litre.
Officials said the adjustments are based on international oil price trends and exchange rate movements.

Travellers Await Fare Updates
The fuel price cut has raised expectations of cheaper air tickets, especially ahead of the upcoming travel season.
However, airlines have not yet announced any fare reductions.
