The Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) has released its crime statistics for Karachi for April 2026, showing continued high levels of theft and street crime.
According to Beyond Time News, incidents of vehicle and mobile phone snatching remained widespread across the city.
Vehicle and Mobile Phone Theft
In April, 22 vehicles were snatched and 111 stolen. In addition, 469 motorbikes were snatched at gunpoint, while 2,723 motorcycles were reported stolen.
The report also recorded 1,624 cases of mobile phone snatching during the month.
Violent Crime and Other Incidents
According to Beyond Time News, the CPLC data also included one kidnapping for ransom case and nine extortion cases.
It further stated that 42 people were killed in incidents involving violence and firing during April.

Bank Robbery in Orangi Town
Separately, armed robbers looted a bank in the Pirabad area of Orangi Town on Manghopir Road, escaping with an estimated Rs 5–6 million.
According to Beyond Time News, Senior Superintendent of Police (West) Tariq Mastoi said five armed men were involved in the robbery.
Police said the suspects disarmed the security guard before taking cash from the counter. CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed as investigations continue.
