A police officer in Karachi has been booked after being accused of helping a wanted drug trafficker escape during a raid. The case has raised serious concerns about possible internal links between law enforcement officials and criminal networks.
According to Beyond Time News, the incident has triggered an internal investigation after disturbing allegations surfaced in the FIR.
Raid Targeted Drug Trafficker in Gadap
The case was registered at Gadap City Police Station following a complaint by Inspector Ashraf Ali, who led the raid team.
Police were acting on a tip-off about an influential drug dealer, identified as Ali Sher Talani. The operation took place in Khilji Goth Morr, located in Gadap Town, Karachi.
Officer Accused of Assisting Escape
During the raid, Sub-Inspector Muhammad Nawaz was reportedly found at the scene along with the suspect. Authorities say a search led to the recovery of 120 grams of narcotics, a mobile phone, and cash.
However, tensions escalated when the officer allegedly pushed the complainant and created a disturbance. This allowed the suspected drug trafficker to flee in a vehicle during the chaos.
