A stunning century from Babar Azam powered Peshawar Zalmi into the final after a commanding 70-run victory over Islamabad United in a high-scoring clash.
According to Beyond Time News, Zalmi delivered a complete performance, led by Babar’s batting brilliance and a strong bowling effort that dismantled United’s chase.
Babar Anchors Massive Zalmi Total
Zalmi posted a huge total of 221 for 7 in 20 overs after a powerful batting display. The innings was built around Babar Azam’s elegant yet explosive knock of 103 runs.
He reached his fourth PSL century off just 58 balls, combining timing and power to dominate the bowling attack. His innings included crisp boundaries and a series of well-placed shots as he accelerated in the death overs.
Earlier, Kusal Mendis added a solid 41, while Mohammad Haris contributed a quick 35 to give Zalmi early momentum.

Late Surge Pushes Score Beyond 220
After Zalmi briefly lost momentum in the middle overs, Babar steadied the innings with calm control. However, the finishing touch came from Aaron Hardie, who smashed a quick 20 off just 10 balls.
As a result, Zalmi added crucial late runs, pushing their total to a daunting 221. This proved to be well beyond United’s reach.
United Start Well but Collapse Quickly
In response, Islamabad United began positively. Sameer Minhas played an aggressive knock of 44 off 23 balls, while Devon Conway added a steady start.
Together, they built a 58-run opening partnership and kept the chase alive early on. However, once the first wicket fell, the innings quickly unraveled.
Hardie and Bowlers Trigger Collapse
Aaron Hardie turned the match with the ball as well. He struck key breakthroughs, removing Sameer Minhas and later picking up two more wickets to finish with impressive figures.
In addition, Sufiyan Muqeem and Mohammad Basit supported brilliantly, tightening the pressure on United’s middle order. As a result, wickets fell in quick succession.
Islamabad United eventually collapsed to 151 all out in 18.4 overs.
