Babar Azam’s Century Powers Peshawar Zalmi Into PSL 11 Final

Peshawar Zalmi secured a place in the final of Pakistan Super League Season 11 after a dominant all-round performance led by captain Babar Azam.

According to Beyond Time News, Zalmi posted a strong total of 221/7 before bowling out Islamabad United for 151 in the Qualifier.

Babar’s Brilliant Century

Put in to bat first, Zalmi were powered by a superb innings from Babar Azam, who scored 103 off 59 balls — his fourth PSL century.

He shared a 72-run opening stand with Mohammad Haris, who made 35 off 16 balls, giving Zalmi a fast start.

Babar later built another key partnership of 84 runs with Kusal Mendis, who contributed 41 off 26 deliveries.

Despite a brief middle-order slowdown, Babar held the innings together and reached his century in the 18th over. Late hitting from Aaron Hardie (20 off 10) pushed the total beyond 220.

Islamabad United’s Bowling Effort

For Islamabad United, Shadab Khan stood out with figures of 3/42, while Richard Gleeson picked up two wickets.

Chase Falls Apart

Chasing 222, Islamabad United started well with a 58-run opening partnership between Devon Conway (20) and Sameer Minhas.

Minhas top-scored with 44 off 23 balls, but the middle order collapsed under pressure.

Zalmi’s bowlers dominated the innings, with Hardie taking 3/24, while Sufiyan Muqeem and Mohammad Basit claimed two wickets each.

United slipped from 100/4 to 126/8, effectively ending the contest. They were eventually bowled out for 151 in 18.4 overs.

Zalmi Advance to Final

With this win, Peshawar Zalmi move into the PSL 11 final, while Islamabad United will get another chance in the next playoff against the winner of the Eliminator.
