Lahore: Punjab has decided to introduce topics related to patriotism and “Marka-e-Haq (Battle of Truth)” in the school curriculum, according to Beyond Time News.
Decision taken in steering committee meeting
The decision was made during a meeting of the Information Steering Committee chaired by Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari. Senior officials from the Information, Home, and Finance departments also attended the session.
Participants agreed on incorporating lessons that promote national unity and patriotism into educational content across institutions.
Focus on education and awareness campaigns
The committee also recommended organizing awareness programmes in private schools and colleges. Officials said the goal is to strengthen national unity among students through structured learning activities.
Alongside curriculum updates, the meeting discussed launching a broader public awareness campaign highlighting themes of unity and national identity.
Film and media projects planned
The committee approved plans to produce films under a government funding initiative. These projects will focus on “Marka-e-Haq” and national unity themes.
A separate drama based on the life of Pakistan’s first Prime Minister, Liaquat Ali Khan, was also proposed to promote historical awareness among the public.

Monitoring and social media oversight
Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari announced that a joint monitoring cell will be set up by the Information and Home Departments. The cell will identify and address harmful or hateful content on social media.
She also stressed stricter action against hate speech, especially ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram, and said authorities would ensure timely and accurate public communication.
Goal of the initiative
Officials said the overall aim is to promote social harmony, strengthen national unity, and improve awareness through education, media, and coordinated government messaging.
