Real Madrid Win Court Case Bernabeu Concert Noise Dispute

Madrid: Real Madrid have secured a legal victory in a dispute over noise complaints linked to concerts at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, according to Beyond Time News.

Court clears club officials of responsibility

A Spanish court ruled that neither Real Madrid Estadio nor club executive Jose Angel Sanchez committed any criminal offence related to noise levels during concerts held at the renovated stadium.

The case had been filed after residents complained that several events, including a major international concert, exceeded permitted noise limits. Earlier proceedings had suggested possible criminal implications, but the court has now dismissed those claims.

Responsibility placed on event organisers

The court noted that responsibility for meeting noise regulations lies with the concert promotion companies, not the stadium management. This clarification effectively removes legal pressure from the club and its executives.

Real Madrid stated that the decision clearly confirms their legal position and ends allegations against the club’s stadium operations team.

Future of Bernabeu concerts

The ruling may also reopen the possibility of hosting large-scale concerts at the Bernabeu in the future. However, any return of events will depend on improved soundproofing measures at the venue.

The club invested heavily in the stadium’s redevelopment, hoping to expand its use beyond football. Concert revenue was expected to play a key role in that strategy, but many shows were recently moved to other venues in Madrid due to ongoing disputes.

Background

The Bernabeu renovation, valued at over €1.5 billion, was designed to transform the stadium into a multi-purpose entertainment hub. Noise complaints from nearby residents have remained the main obstacle to fully realizing that goal.

With the court ruling now in its favour, Real Madrid has taken a major step toward restoring its plans for hosting major global events at its iconic stadium.
