Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Visits Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam School After Eight Years

Srinagar — All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq visited Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam School in the Islamabad district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir after eight years, saying authorities had finally permitted him to visit the institution.

Education Must Build Character Too

According to Beyond Time News, Mirwaiz interacted with students and appreciated the work of Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam Trust. He stressed that education should go beyond degrees and careers, emphasising the importance of character building and moral values alongside academic learning.

He noted that the institution, founded in 1899, has never been profit-driven and continues to provide affordable education. Over 60 percent of its students come from first-generation learner families belonging to economically weaker sections of society.

Mirwaiz also highlighted the vital role parents play in the moral upbringing of children alongside formal schooling.
