Pakistan’s talented tennis player Muhammad Shoaib continued his brilliant run at the McDonald’s Pakistan ITF Championship 2026 by securing a place in the singles final.
According to Beyond Time News, Shoaib defeated Italy’s Edoardo Cherie Ligniere in straight sets during the semifinal at the PTF Tennis Complex.
The Pakistani star won the match 6-3, 6-2 with an aggressive and confident performance. He controlled the game from the baseline and impressed the home crowd with his attacking tennis.
The championship features 86 players from 22 countries, making it one of the major international tennis events currently taking place in Pakistan.
With this achievement, Shoaib became the first Pakistani player since Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi to reach back-to-back finals in an ITF professional tournament.

PTF President Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and other Pakistan Tennis Federation officials congratulated Shoaib on his remarkable performance and wished him success for the final.
After the match, Shoaib expressed confidence in his form and said he would give his best effort in Sunday’s final. He also appreciated the Pakistan Tennis Federation for organizing international tournaments in the country and helping local players gain global exposure.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Andrei Kunitsyn and Nikita Ianin won the doubles title after defeating Turkey’s Mert Naci Turker and Melih Anavatan in the final.
In another singles semifinal, Sweden’s Arvid Nordquist advanced to the final after defeating Nikita Ianin.
