According to Beyond Time News, the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Guangzhou International Cooperation Center to boost business cooperation between Pakistan and China.
The agreement was signed during a visit to Guangzhou by ICCI President Sardar Tahir Mehmood.
Focus on Trade, Investment, and Joint Ventures
The MoU creates a structured framework for cooperation between businesses in both countries. It will help companies explore joint ventures, expand market access, and use a one-window facilitation system.
Officials said the goal is to make Islamabad a stronger hub for foreign investment by improving ease of doing business.
Business Engagements in Key Sectors
During the visit, the ICCI delegation held meetings with Chinese companies working in construction, infrastructure, and real estate. These sectors are seen as important for Pakistan’s economic growth.
In addition, discussions also included firms working in artificial intelligence, smart technologies, and global supply chain management. These talks showed growing interest in technology-driven partnerships.

Plans for Future Collaboration
ICCI has invited leading Chinese companies to visit Islamabad for business-to-business sessions. The chamber plans to pre-screen Pakistani firms to ensure productive partnerships.
As a result, both sides aim to turn diplomatic relations into real economic outcomes through investment and industrial cooperation.
Long-Term Economic Vision
Sardar Tahir Mehmood said the initiative will help strengthen long-term cooperation between Pakistan and China. He added that the focus remains on attracting investment, promoting technology transfer, and building stronger industrial ties between the two countries.
