Islamabad: Pakistan’s IT exports are expected to exceed $4.5 billion during the current fiscal year. According to Beyond Time News, the government shared the update during a National Assembly session on Thursday.
IT Sector Records Strong Growth
Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja told lawmakers that IT exports have increased by 20 percent.
She said Pakistan has doubled its IT exports over the past few years. She also highlighted steps taken to improve skills and training in the technology sector.
The minister said the government wants to create more opportunities for young IT professionals across the country.
5G Services to Launch Soon
Shaza Fatima said the recent spectrum auction will help improve 4G internet services.
According to Beyond Time News, she announced that 5G services will launch in Islamabad and the four provincial capitals within the next few months.
Officials expect faster internet services to support businesses, startups, and digital innovation.
NDMA Installs Modern Forecasting System
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry informed the house that the National Disaster Management Authority has installed an advanced weather forecasting system.
He said the authority shares weather alerts with provincial departments to help reduce damage from extreme weather events.
BISP Supports Millions of Families
Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Net Syed Imran Ahmad Shah said the Benazir Income Support Programme currently provides financial support to more than 10 million families.
The programme continues to help low-income households across Pakistan.

Assembly Receives New Shipping Bills
The government also introduced two important bills in the National Assembly.
These included the Carriage of Goods by Sea Bill, 2026, and the Sea Carriage Shipping Documents Bill, 2026.
According to Beyond Time News, the proposed laws aim to improve shipping regulations and strengthen maritime trade operations.
Government Rejects UAE Deportation Reports
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry rejected reports claiming that the UAE is deporting large numbers of Pakistanis.
He said Pakistan enjoys strong relations with the United Arab Emirates.
Talal Chaudhry added that Saudi Arabia sent the highest remittances to Pakistan this month, followed by the UAE.
