Fuel prices in Pakistan are expected to decrease in the next revision, supported by a decline in international oil prices.
Expected Reduction
According to Beyond Time News, early estimates suggest petrol may be reduced by Re1 per litre, while diesel could fall by Rs2 per litre.
Sources said the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has completed its preliminary working and will soon forward recommendations to the Petroleum Division. Final approval will be given by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Levy Adjustment Could Affect Prices
Officials warned that any increase in the petroleum levy could offset the expected relief.
If revised upward, petrol may rise by up to Rs15 per litre and diesel by up to Rs16 per litre. The current levy stands at Rs103.50 per litre on petrol and Rs28.69 per litre on diesel.
