Sindh Imposes 60-Day Ban on Drones

The Sindh government has imposed a complete ban on drone flying across the province for 60 days under Section 144, citing security concerns.

According to a notification issued by the provincial Home Department, strict action will be taken against anyone violating the order. Officials said the step aims to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.


Strict Enforcement Ordered

Authorities have directed law enforcement agencies and local administration to fully enforce the ban. The government emphasised that protecting lives and property remains its top priority.

However, intelligence agencies and law enforcement institutions have been exempted from the restriction.

Punjab Extends Similar Restrictions

Meanwhile, the Punjab Home Department has also extended Section 144 across the province, including a ban on outdoor drone operations for another 30 days.

Officials said the extension was necessary due to ongoing security concerns.

Limited Indoor Use Allowed

Despite the restrictions, authorities have allowed limited use of small drones at indoor events in Lahore.

Event organisers will be responsible for ensuring safe usage during such gatherings. Any misuse could lead to legal action.


Focus on Public Safety

Officials reiterated that these measures are preventive in nature. They aim to avoid potential security threats while maintaining stability across the province.

The restrictions in Punjab will remain in place until May 25, with strict monitoring by authorities.
