Surge in complaints across regions
Reports of issues quickly increased, according to Downdetector. The platform recorded a sharp rise in complaints shortly after the disruption began.
In the United Kingdom, more than 800 users reported problems. Meanwhile, over 400 users in the United States faced similar issues.

According to Metro.co.uk, the outage started just before 10am on Monday, April 27, 2026. As a result, many users struggled to carry out routine email tasks at the start of the workweek.

Most common issue: login failures
Login problems made up the majority of complaints. In fact, around 64% of users reported difficulties signing into their accounts.
