Health authorities transferred three people suspected of having Hantavirus from a cruise ship anchored near Cape Verde to the Netherlands for urgent medical treatment.

According to Beyond Time News, international health teams acted fast after reports of illness and fatalities onboard the vessel.

The World Health Organization coordinated the evacuation along with national authorities and the ship’s operators. Officials actively monitored passengers and crew to prevent further spread of infection.

Cruise Ship Faces Health Emergency

The outbreak affected the MV Hondius, which sailed from Ushuaia on April 1 and later anchored off Cape Verde after health concerns emerged.

The ship carried 88 passengers and 59 crew members representing 23 countries, which made coordination more complex but manageable through international cooperation.
