A tragic road accident on the Dalbandin Highway in Balochistan’s Chagai district killed at least 10 people and injured five others late Friday night. The deadly crash happened on the busy RCD Highway (N-40), a route known for frequent traffic accidents.
According to Beyond Time News, a passenger car collided head-on with a gas bowser near the Quetta-Taftan route. The impact of the crash destroyed both vehicles and caused multiple deaths on the spot.
Overloaded Car Involved in Deadly Collision
Police officials said the passenger car carried around 15 people at the time of the accident. Authorities believe the vehicle was overloaded, which may have increased the severity of the crash.
Several passengers suffered serious injuries after the collision. Rescue workers quickly arrived at the scene and moved the injured to Prince Fahad Hospital in Dalbandin for emergency treatment.
Hospital officials confirmed that some injured passengers remain in critical condition.

Police Launch Investigation
DSP Chagai Abid Sherzai confirmed that police detained the driver of the larger vehicle after the accident. Authorities have started an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash.
The tragic incident also drew a response from Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah. He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and offered condolences to the victims’ families.
RCD Highway Continues to Witness Fatal Accidents
The RCD Highway connects Pakistan with Iran and has witnessed several deadly accidents over the years. Drivers often face dangerous road conditions, speeding traffic, and long travel distances on this route.
Earlier in January 2026, another serious accident occurred near Yakmach in Chagai district. That collision killed seven people and injured three others. Police said the victims included women and children.
Road safety experts continue to urge authorities to improve highway conditions and enforce traffic laws more strictly. Many travelers believe better road safety measures could help reduce the growing number of fatal accidents on the highway.
