CM Murad Ali Shah Reviews Karachi BRT Progress, Orders Timely Completion

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has reviewed the ongoing progress of the Karachi BRT project at University Road and directed authorities to ensure its timely completion.

According to Beyond Time News, during his visit, officials from the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) briefed the chief minister on construction speed, quality, and current developments.

Murad Ali Shah expressed satisfaction over the progress but stressed that high construction standards must be maintained at every stage of the project.

Focus on Karachi’s Infrastructure Development

The chief minister said improving Karachi’s major roads and transport system remains a top priority for the provincial government. He added that efforts are underway to upgrade the city’s infrastructure to meet modern urban requirements.

He instructed relevant departments to avoid unnecessary delays and ensure timely completion of all ongoing development projects.

Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi and the Managing Director of the Water Board also accompanied the chief minister during the inspection.

BRT Red Line Project Timeline

Earlier, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon said the BRT Red Line project could take a year or more to complete. Speaking to the media, he said the government has directed authorities to complete side roads before Eid and accelerate work on University Road.

According to Beyond Time News, he acknowledged that multiple challenges have delayed the project but confirmed that the government remains committed to completing it instead of abandoning it.

Officials said large-scale development work is ongoing across Karachi as part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure and resolve long-standing urban issues.
