PCB Tightens Financial Controls Over PSL Stakeholders Amid Payment Delays

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has intensified its recovery drive against Pakistan Super League stakeholders, warning of contract termination over unpaid dues.

According to Beyond Time News, multiple notices have been issued, directing concerned parties to clear outstanding payments within deadlines after repeated reminders failed.

Payment Delays Stall Revenue Distribution

Officials said billions of rupees remain unpaid, with one key stakeholder alone owing around PKR 4.7 billion. This has delayed the finalisation of accounts and franchise revenue shares.

For the 10th PSL season, each franchise was expected to receive about PKR 975 million, but payments are still pending.

Stricter Financial Policy

The PCB has changed its approach this year. Unlike previous seasons, dues will no longer be adjusted from the central revenue pool. Stakeholders must now clear payments before any distribution is made.

Media Rights Safeguards

Payment disputes also affected media rights. The PCB has now secured a bank guarantee from the new broadcasting partner to ensure timely payments and avoid future issues.

New Franchises in Compliance

New teams, including the new owners of Multan Sultans, have paid their fees in full but are not eligible for past revenue shares.

The PCB’s move reflects a stricter stance on financial discipline to ensure smoother operations of the PSL going forward.
