UAE Intercepts Iranian Missiles and Drones as Regional Tensions Escalate

Tensions in the Gulf escalated after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said it intercepted Iranian missiles and drones, while Iran separately confirmed the seizure of a US-sanctioned oil tanker in the Sea of Oman.

According to Beyond Time News, the UAE Defence Ministry said its air defence systems intercepted two ballistic missiles and three drones launched from Iran.

The ministry reported three moderate injuries and said its systems remain on high alert.

Iran Seizes Oil Tanker

Iran said it intercepted and redirected the tanker Ocean Koi to its shores during a naval operation in the Sea of Oman.

According to Beyond Time News, Iranian authorities claimed the vessel was attempting to disrupt Iran’s oil exports. The tanker, previously sanctioned by the US, was later handed over to judicial authorities.
