PLL Rejects Costly LNG Spot Bids, Saves Up to $50 Million

Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL) has rejected two spot LNG cargo bids after suppliers demanded higher prices, a decision expected to save the country between $22 million and $50 million.

LNG Supply Arrangements

According to Beyond Time News, officials informed the Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum that LNG imports are being managed through alternative arrangements, including supplies from Qatar.

A Qatari LNG cargo is expected to arrive at Port Qasim to support domestic energy needs.

Energy Priorities

Officials said gas supplies are being directed to priority sectors, especially fertiliser production, to avoid shortages amid global market fluctuations.
