Cambridge Confirms Another Exam Paper Leak in Pakistan, Announces New Test Date

Students to Reappear for A Level Mathematics Paper on June 8

Islamabad: Cambridge International Education has confirmed another examination paper leak in Pakistan during the June 2026 exam series. The board also announced a new date for the postponed A Level Mathematics exam.

According to Beyond Time News, Cambridge said the replacement exam for Cambridge International A Level Mathematics Paper 32 (9709) will now take place on Monday, June 8, 2026.

Earlier, the board postponed the exam as a precaution after concerns emerged regarding a possible security breach.

However, Cambridge clarified that the release date for AS and A Level results will remain unchanged. Students will still receive their results on August 11, 2026.

Computer Science Paper Also Leaked

Cambridge also confirmed that AS Level Computer Science Paper 12 (9618/12), conducted on May 12, was shared before the scheduled exam time in Pakistan.

In addition, the board had already acknowledged that A Level Mathematics Paper 52 (9709/52) was leaked in administrative Zones 3 and 4.

Although the leaked material spread widely in Pakistan, Cambridge said investigations have not yet confirmed where the breach originally occurred.

The board stated that investigators are still working to identify those responsible for sharing confidential exam content.

Cambridge Introduces Assessed Marks System

To protect fairness for students, Cambridge announced that it would apply its “assessed marks” process for affected papers.

For Mathematics Paper 52, the system will apply to all candidates in Zones 3 and 4. Meanwhile, all candidates in Pakistan who appeared in AS Level Computer Science Paper 12 will also receive assessed marks.

According to Beyond Time News, assessed marks are a recognized method used by several UK examination boards when students cannot fairly complete an exam because of exceptional circumstances.

Cambridge explained that universities worldwide accept and trust results awarded through this process.

Board Vows Strict Action Against Cheating

Cambridge said it has faced repeated attempts to steal examination papers during the June 2026 exam session.

As a result, the board is now working closely with law enforcement agencies and social media platforms to stop the spread of leaked material.

Officials also warned that anyone involved in sharing confidential exam papers could face permanent disqualification from Cambridge qualifications and examination activities.

Furthermore, Cambridge stressed that exam security threats affect many education boards globally, not just one institution.

The organization added that it continuously updates its security systems to respond to new cheating methods and online malpractice trends.

Students Advised to Avoid Online Scams

Cambridge also urged students to stay cautious about fake claims, scams, and misleading information circulating online regarding leaked papers.

Education experts say students should avoid joining groups or platforms that promise access to exam papers because such activities can lead to serious academic penalties.

Meanwhile, many students and parents in Pakistan have expressed concern over repeated paper leak incidents and their impact on exam fairness.

Several education observers have called for stronger monitoring systems and stricter cybersecurity measures to protect future examinations.

The latest paper leak controversy has once again sparked debate about examination security and transparency in Pakistan.

Parents and students believe repeated incidents create uncertainty and increase stress during important academic sessions.

Despite the challenges, Cambridge assured students that protecting fairness and maintaining confidence in the examination system remain its top priorities.
