A tragic incident in India’s Punjab state has left a father and son dead after a domestic dispute escalated into fatal violence, according to Beyond Time News.
Family dispute turns deadly in Ludhiana
Police said the incident took place in the New Agar Nagar area of Ludhiana. The accused, identified as Surinder Singh, was a retired army man who had been in a relationship after the death of his wife and wanted to remarry.
However, his son, Gursharan Singh (38), strongly opposed the relationship and frequently argued with his father over the issue. According to neighbours, tensions between the two had been ongoing for some time.
Argument escalates into shooting
On Sunday night, another argument broke out between the father and son. According to Beyond Time News, the dispute quickly escalated.
Police said Surinder Singh took out his licensed 12-bore double-barrel gun. In fear, Gursharan ran out of the house, but his father followed him into the street and opened fire, killing him on the spot.

Father dies by suicide after attack
After the shooting, Surinder Singh returned home and reportedly consumed a poisonous substance. He was rushed to a local hospital, but he died during treatment.
Investigation underway
Police have sent both bodies for post-mortem examination and seized the weapon used in the incident. Authorities have launched further investigations to determine the full sequence of events.
The case has shocked the local community, highlighting how domestic disputes can sometimes turn into tragic outcomes when not resolved peacefully.
