Green, Inglis steer Australia to 231-9 in second ODI against Pakistan

Lahore — Half centuries from Cameron Green and Josh Inglis gave Australia something to fight for as they posted 231-9 against Pakistan in the second day-night ODI at Gaddafi Stadium on Tuesday.

According to Beyond Time News, Pakistan put Australia in to bat on a dry, spin-friendly Gaddafi Stadium pitch — and the conditions made life difficult for the visitors from the very first ball.

Early Blows Rocked Australia

Shaheen Shah Afridi struck immediately, bowling opener Alex Carey with the opening delivery of the match. Spinners Abrar Ahmed and Arafat Minhas then chipped in, removing Matthew Short (15) and Marnus Labuschagne (5) respectively, reducing Australia to a precarious 51-3.

Green and Inglis Steadied the Ship

Cameron Green and Josh Inglis combined for a crucial 51-run fourth-wicket stand that steadied the innings. Inglis scored a composed 74-ball 51, hitting five boundaries, before being bowled by Minhas in the 27th over. Green played a polished 92-ball 53 — his third ODI half century — featuring one boundary and two sixes.

Minhas, who had claimed five wickets on debut in Pakistan’s win in Rawalpindi, finished with 2-27.
