IESCO Announces Scheduled Power Outages in Islamabad and Nearby Areas

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced a scheduled power suspension programme for Thursday in various areas under its jurisdiction due to routine maintenance and development work, according to Beyond Time News.

IESCO said the temporary outages are necessary to ensure the smooth operation and reliability of the power distribution system.

Islamabad Circle

Electricity supply will remain suspended from 7:00 am to 11:00 am in areas served by the following feeders:

  • Pir Sohawa
  • Khadrepar
  • Khanna Dak
  • Burma
  • Ghouri Garden
  • Shareefabad
  • Scheme-I

GSO Circle

Power supply from the Azad Pattan feeder will remain suspended from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Meanwhile, electricity will be unavailable from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon in areas connected to:

  • Amin Abad
  • GBHP-1
  • DEC
  • Bagh-e-Nelab
  • People Colony
  • Marri feeders

Transmission Line Maintenance

IESCO said maintenance work on the 132-kV New Wah–POF transmission line and associated equipment will be carried out from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, which may affect electricity supply in connected areas.

In addition, maintenance activities on the following transmission lines will continue from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm:

  • 132-kV Chakwal–Bhagwal–Talagang
  • 132-kV Kahuta City–Palandri
  • 132-kV New Wah–Bahtermore

Consumers in areas linked to these transmission lines may experience temporary power interruptions during the maintenance period.

Consumers Advised to Plan Accordingly

IESCO apologized for the inconvenience and advised consumers to make necessary arrangements in advance. The company added that electricity supply may be restored earlier than scheduled if maintenance work is completed ahead of time.

The scheduled maintenance is part of IESCO’s ongoing efforts to improve system performance and ensure a more reliable power supply across its service areas.
