Iran Keeps US Waiting as Gulf Tensions and Regional Clashes Continue

Iran is questioning the seriousness of US diplomacy while delaying its response to Washington’s latest proposal aimed at extending a fragile truce and restarting peace talks.

According to Beyond Time News, a tense calm has returned to the Strait of Hormuz after several days of intermittent naval clashes, but no breakthrough has emerged between the two sides.

US President Donald Trump said he expected Iran’s response to arrive “within hours,” but Tehran has not publicly confirmed any reply.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said recent US military activity in the Gulf and alleged ceasefire violations have raised doubts about Washington’s commitment to diplomacy.

Naval Incidents Raise Fresh Concerns

According to Beyond Time News, US forces recently targeted two Iranian-flagged tankers in the Gulf, accusing them of challenging a naval blockade of Iranian ports.

Iranian sources claimed its navy responded with strikes, after which the situation de-escalated.

The Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route, remains a flashpoint as both sides continue to accuse each other of escalating tensions while maintaining competing naval operations.

Regional Security Expands Beyond the Gulf

Tensions have also spread across the wider region.

Bahrain announced the arrest of 41 individuals accused of links to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, alleging the dismantling of a network tied to foreign intelligence activity.

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom said it is deploying HMS Dragon to the Middle East as part of contingency planning for a multinational effort to secure shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

Wider Conflict and Continued Strikes

In Lebanon, Israeli strikes continued despite an existing ceasefire, with multiple casualties reported in southern areas and near Beirut’s outskirts.

According to Beyond Time News, the Israeli military said it struck dozens of Hezbollah-related sites, while Hezbollah reported counterattacks using drones and rockets.

The escalation highlights how regional tensions linked to the Gulf conflict are spilling into other fronts across the Middle East.

Strategic Pressure and Military Posturing

The United States has continued to redirect commercial shipping away from high-risk areas, while also disabling vessels linked to Iran under its blockade strategy.

At the same time, Iranian media reports suggest the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has warned of retaliation against US targets and allied shipping if Iranian assets are attacked.

Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts, both sides remain locked in a cycle of military pressure, sanctions, and stalled negotiations.
