Karachi Court Orders Jail-Based Remand Proceedings in Anmol Pinky Case

KARACHI: A sessions court in Karachi South has ordered that remand proceedings in the case of Anmol alias Pinky be held inside the Central Jail instead of the City Court, citing security concerns.

According to Beyond Time News, the decision was taken after police requested special arrangements due to the prevailing law and order situation.

The court noted that producing the accused in open court could pose risks to public safety.

FIR and Court Orders

Sessions Judge Zahoor Ahmed Hakro directed a judicial magistrate to conduct the remand proceedings at the Central Jail Complex.

According to Beyond Time News, the case is registered as FIR No. 147/2026 at Baghdadi Police Station under Section 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Officials were instructed to ensure immediate implementation of the court’s order.

Arrest and Charges

Anmol alias Pinky was arrested earlier this month from her residence in Karachi’s Garden area during a joint operation by police and a civilian intelligence agency.

She is facing multiple charges, including murder allegations as well as separate cases related to narcotics possession and illegal weapons.

Police Action Over SOP Violations

The case has led to internal disciplinary action after reports of alleged violations of standard operating procedures during custody handling.

The Inspector General of Sindh reportedly suspended three police officials over providing “VIP treatment” to the accused.

Public Reaction

The case has drawn attention on social media after videos showed the accused being escorted without handcuffs during court movement.

Critics have questioned unequal treatment in the justice system and alleged preferential handling in high-profile cases.
