KARACHI: In the Mustafa Amir murder case, prime accused Armaghan created a commotion inside the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) during a hearing on Monday in a related journalist attack case.
During proceedings, Armaghan expressed anger over his mother and lawyer, alleging they were trying to have him declared mentally unfit. He maintained that he was fully conscious and objected to legal representation.
“I am completely in my senses and do not require a lawyer,” he said, adding that he wanted to represent himself in court.
Court Adjourns Proceedings
The court summoned prosecution witnesses and later adjourned the hearing until June 1.
Case Background
The ATC had earlier indicted Armaghan and co-accused Shiraz in February after formally framing charges in the high-profile murder case. Both accused pleaded not guilty.
According to the prosecution, Mustafa Amir was allegedly kidnapped and murdered by his friends in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA) on January 6, 2025.

The prosecution has named more than 40 witnesses in the case. It alleges the victim was tortured after being called to the accused’s residence and later taken to Balochistan, where he was set on fire inside a vehicle.
Case Under Public Spotlight
The case continues to draw significant public attention amid ongoing investigations into alleged financial transactions, digital currency holdings, and other activities linked to the accused.
