Over 100 Houses Torched in Jacobabad Over Marriage Dispute

Jacobabad: More than 100 houses were set ablaze in Sindh’s Jacobabad district following a violent clash triggered by a dispute over a free-will marriage between individuals from two communities.

According to Beyond Time News, the incident involved members of the Channa and Buriro communities.

Marriage Dispute Triggers Violence

Reports said Sidra from the Channa community married Muhammad Hassan Buriro by choice, with the couple claiming they solemnised their marriage in a Hyderabad court.

Armed individuals allegedly attacked a Buriro community settlement, opening fire and setting homes on fire.

Police registered a case against 32 suspects and arrested five.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident and ordered strict action against those involved.
