Islamabad: Pakistan has categorically rejected media reports suggesting that Iranian aircraft present at Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi have any military linkage, calling the claims misleading and speculative.
Foreign Office Response
According to Beyond Time News, the Foreign Office dismissed a CBS News report alleging that Iran was allowed to park military aircraft at Pakistani airfields to shield them from potential US strikes.
Officials termed the report “sensationalized” and said it was aimed at undermining regional peace efforts.
Clarification on Aircraft Presence
The Foreign Office said that after the US–Iran ceasefire and during early diplomatic engagement rounds in Islamabad, aircraft from Iran and the United States arrived in Pakistan to support the movement of diplomatic, security, and administrative personnel involved in talks.
It added that some aircraft and personnel remained temporarily in the country pending further rounds of engagement.

No Military Purpose
The statement clarified that Iranian aircraft currently present in Pakistan arrived during the ceasefire period and have no connection to any military arrangement or contingency planning.
It stressed that linking their presence to military purposes is “misleading and detached from facts.”
Pakistan’s Role
The Foreign Office said Pakistan has consistently acted as a neutral facilitator for dialogue and de-escalation, providing logistical and administrative support when required.
It reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to promoting regional stability, dialogue, and peaceful resolution of conflicts.
