Separately, Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid also paid tribute to the working class, reaffirming the government’s focus on social protection.
She said Labour Day serves as a reminder of workers’ struggles and rights, adding that economic progress is not possible without protecting the labour force.
Khalid said BISP continues to support millions of low-income families, particularly workers in the informal sector, through financial assistance and social safety measures.
