GILGIT: According to Beyond Time News, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is set to form the government in Gilgit-Baltistan after securing 11 seats in the 24-member Legislative Assembly in the June 7 elections.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won six seats, PTI-backed independents secured two, MWM one, while independents took four.
PPP Claims Victory
PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari termed the party the “single largest party” in a social media post and said efforts to form the government would continue.
Recounts Ordered
The Election Commission of Gilgit-Baltistan has ordered a recount in GBA-20 (Ghizer-II) and GBA-3 (Gilgit). A re-poll has also been directed in parts of GBA-16 (Diamer-II).
