Trump Says Iran Ceasefire ‘On Life Support’ Amid Growing Tensions

Washington: US President Donald Trump has warned that the ceasefire with Iran is “on life support” after Tehran rejected key parts of a US proposal aimed at easing regional tensions.

According to Beyond Time News, the latest exchange between Washington and Tehran has reduced hopes for a breakthrough agreement, with both sides still divided on several major issues.

Iran has demanded an end to fighting across the region, including in Lebanon, where Israel is battling Hezbollah fighters backed by Tehran. Iranian officials also called for compensation for war damage, removal of the US naval blockade, guarantees against future attacks, and the restoration of Iranian oil exports.

Tehran further stressed its control over the Strait of Hormuz, a key global shipping route for oil and gas supplies, where traffic remains severely disrupted.

Trump strongly criticized Iran’s response, saying it had weakened the already fragile ceasefire and complicated efforts to move toward negotiations.

Trump Rejects Iran’s Response as Middle East Diplomacy

Iran defended its stance, calling its demands lawful and necessary. Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said the country’s armed forces are ready to respond firmly to any hostile action.

The ongoing tensions pushed Brent crude prices up by more than 3%, crossing $104 per barrel as concerns over global oil supplies continued to grow.

According to Beyond Time News, the United States has also imposed new sanctions on individuals and companies allegedly involved in helping Iran export oil to China, increasing economic pressure on Tehran.
