Severe Heatwave Expected Across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is set to face a severe heatwave from May 7 to 11, with temperatures expected to rise well above normal in many parts of the country, according to Beyond Time News based on the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Met Office said a strong high-pressure system in the upper atmosphere is driving this intense weather pattern. It will affect central and southern regions first and later spread to upper parts of the country.

Expected Relief After May 10

The Met Office expects a shallow westerly wave to enter upper parts of the country from the night of May 10. It may continue until May 13.

This system could bring partial relief from the ongoing heatwave in some regions.

Public Safety Advisory

Authorities have urged people to take precautionary steps during the heatwave. They advised citizens, especially children, women, and elderly individuals, to avoid direct sunlight during peak hours.

People should drink plenty of water and limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day. Authorities also recommended careful water usage due to increased demand.

Farmers have been advised to adjust field activities and protect livestock from heat stress.

All relevant departments remain on alert to handle any emergency situations caused by extreme weather.

Conclusion

Pakistan will face intense heat over the coming days, with several regions experiencing dangerous temperature levels. Officials continue to monitor the situation closely and urge the public to follow safety guidelines to stay protected.
