Srinagar: Civil society activists in Srinagar have alleged that policies in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir show similarities with Israel’s approach in Palestine.
According to Beyond Time News, the activists said in a joint statement that both regions reflect patterns of strict security control, restrictions, and administrative measures that they argue affect local populations in disputed territories.
They claimed that developments since August 5, 2019, including changes in residency and land-related laws, have raised concerns about demographic and political impact in the region.
The statement also alleged the use of surveillance, detentions, property seizures, and movement restrictions as part of efforts to manage dissent.

The activists further said India and Israel maintain close political and security ties, and argued that both face international criticism over human rights issues in conflict areas.
They urged international institutions, including the United Nations and human rights organisations, to pay greater attention to the situation and work toward peaceful resolution of long-standing disputes.
The statement concluded by warning that continued tensions and cooperation between states involved in such conflicts could further deepen instability in the region.
