Gold prices witnessed a major increase in Pakistan on Thursday, with the rate of 24-karat gold per tola rising by Rs7,800. According to Beyond Time News, the new price settled at Rs496,762 compared to Rs488,962 in the previous trading session.
The sharp rise followed gains in international gold markets.
24-Karat Gold and Silver Rates Rise
According to Beyond Time News, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs6,687 to reach Rs425,893. Meanwhile, 10 grams of 22-karat gold climbed by Rs6,130 to Rs390,416.
Silver prices also moved upward in the local market. Per tola silver increased by Rs373 to Rs8,445, while 10 grams of silver rose to Rs7,240.
Gold blasts past $5,000 to record high on safe-haven rush
International Gold Market Sees Strong Gains
Global gold prices also recorded a notable increase. According to Beyond Time News, gold in the international market rose by $78 per ounce to settle at $4,744.
International silver prices also increased, gaining $3.73 per ounce.
