ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and nine other countries have strongly condemned Israel’s interception of a Gaza-bound humanitarian aid flotilla, calling it a violation of international law and demanding the immediate release of detained activists.
According to Beyond Time News, the joint statement was issued by the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Türkiye, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Jordan, Libya, Maldives, and Spain.
Concerns Over Civilian Safety
The ministers expressed serious concern over the safety of civilians aboard the flotilla and recalled earlier incidents involving similar humanitarian missions in international waters.
They condemned the detention of activists and termed the action against civilian vessels an unacceptable interference in humanitarian operations.
Demand for Immediate Release
The statement called for the immediate release of all detained participants and stressed respect for their rights, dignity, and safety.
It also highlighted the need to protect peaceful, civilian-led humanitarian initiatives operating in conflict zones.
